In the four pieces I created for this show, I was inspired by the anonymous quote, "Peace. It does not mean to be in a place where there is no noise, trouble, or hard work. It means to be in the midst of those things and still be calm in your heart." My artistic interpretation of this quote is that it's a gift to be able to share the color, beauty, even joy that exists simultaneously alongside circumstances of pain, injustice, and difficulty.
